Northwest Indiana A Great Place to Live and Still Enjoy Windy City Events & Theatre
Originally born and raised in Chicago (South Side - go White Sox :) , I can relate to those who are considering a move to Northwest Indiana because I made the move several decades ago for many of the following reasons myself...
1) Lower Cost of Living -> You may spend less dollars living in NW Indiana on Property Taxes, Sales Tax, and No City Sticker for your car either!
2) Schools -> local NWI award winning schools and in state colleges for our children gave them a foundation for post graduate completion and gainful employment.
3) Neighborhoods -> a big backyard or even acreage, a bigger home, or even a recreational community is affordable in NW Indiana compared to our neighboring states housing costs.
4) Proximity to the Windy City-> With the South Shore Train Line, Indiana Toll-Road or 1-94 expressway - Chicago events, culture and nightlife is less than an hour away. Many consider Northwest Indiana home yet work in Chicago-land.
5) Fiscally Stable State -> Indiana has a balanced budget and even had a surplus this year = nuff said.
So if you are considering a move or career change and want the best of both worlds -> Country Living, City Close...Northwest Indiana may be the choice for you too!
Recently, we attended I Love Lucy at Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place and had dinner at one of the famous Rosebud Restaurants in Chicago.
